Inside the Cottage
Step inside to find calm and playful interiors. Underfloor heating keeps the cottage cozy throughout, while the wood-burning stove in the living room adds extra warmth. There are lots of windows to capture the stunning water views and let natural light in. There is a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, complete with a separate drinks fridge. The living room has a huge sofa and provides the ideal setup for family time, games, or a quiet evening watching a movie by the fire. Two well appointed bedrooms provide comfortable super king size beds (or one of the bedrooms can convert to twin single beds with the option of an extra pull out kids bed). There is a large bathroom with a bath and separate walk-in shower, plus additional guest loo. High-speed Starlink internet and a dedicated desk makes staycation working a breeze, if needed.

Outdoor Living

Outside, your own private garden wraps around the cottage, offering different ways to enjoy every part of the day. Start your morning with a coffee on the garden bench at the front of the cottage, soaking in the sunrise and expansive views across the reservoir. Spend sunny afternoons on the west-facing terrace, home to an alfresco dining area and outdoor kitchen with a large charcoal BBQ island and food prep space — perfect for long, leisurely meals and catching the sunset. As night falls, make use of the telescope to stargaze under Northumberland’s famed dark skies. And to the rear of the cottage, you’ll find a Solo Stove smokeless fire pit — ideal for toasting marshmallows and enjoying long, memorable evenings chatting beneath the stars.

Pets: Two well-behaved dogs are welcome
Family: Children are very welcome. One travel cot is available upon request. We have a box of kids toys to help keep little ones entertained - plus a cupboard of other games for big kids and adults to enjoy.

The kitchen has a an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, drinks fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.

The living room includes smart TV and surround sound, wood burner, family games.

There is a utility cupboard with washing machine, tumble dryer, hanging rack, iron and ironing board.

There is underfloor heating throughout powered by air source heat pump.

Outside there is a barbecue, fire pit and dining area.

Parking for 3 cars.
Accessibility - There are several steps between the entrance gate and the front door. The cottage is all at ground floor level - however there is a single step between the kitchen and living room. Please contact us if you have any accessibility queries.

Please note: From mid-September 2025 to around March 2026, building works may potentially be taking place at a neighbouring detached property. If these works go ahead, they will be limited to weekdays only (Monday to Friday), with no weekend activity. To ensure a peaceful stay, we’re only opening weekend bookings during the initial period of potential external works. Availability for mid-week stays is open from when the works move indoors. The cottage remains completely private, self-contained and detached from the nearby works, however you may notice signs of works at the nearby detached property during weekday daytime hours. If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
