Cronkley is an ancient farmstead with its origins dating back to the 13th century. It sits on a south facing peninsula on land bank running down to the Derwent Reservoir. This provides in a distinctive topography with flowing contours running down to the shoreline, echoing a water ripple and other natural patterns found in the local landscape.
